It's interesting to think about Tony Blair's support of the recent Gulf War, especially when one considers the fact that the Labour Party is Britain's mainstream liberal party - friends of Bill Clinton, the Democrats, etc. etc. Of course Tony Blair, Bill Clinton and our Democratic legislators (with only a few exceptions) supported Bush's war plans. Their only opposition - if one could call it that - was to urge Bush to act through the authority of the United Nations Security Council. It's further interesting to note that Blair's support of the war met with little opposition from Britain's Conservative Party. This has created a strange and unlikely ideological alliance between our most liberal Democrats and some of Britain's most passionate, Reagan-Thatcher-loving conservatives in opposing the war.
Just saw ACDShe tonight in da city. They're an all-girl ACDC tribute band, and what could be better than hot chicks playing hard rock? I'm speechless. As one dude in the crowd screamed, "Girls-who-rock rock!"
